Suspect Wanted in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on 15th St. W
Bradenton police have issued an arrest warrant for a suspect involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred late Saturday night in the 1300 block of 15th St. W.
At approximately 11:30 p.m., a black Infinity sedan traveling northbound at a high rate of speed lost control, collided with a pole, and struck a 26-year-old man who was sitting or sleeping in the grass adjacent to the sidewalk. The driver fled the scene on foot before authorities arrived. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following an investigation, authorities identified the driver as Julio Torres, 28, of Bradenton. Torres faces multiple charges, including vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of a crash involving death, and driving with a suspended license, which is a second or subsequent offense.
