Suncoast Credit Union Donates $850,000 to Support Hurricane Helene and Milton Recovery Efforts
Suncoast Credit Union, the largest credit union in Florida, has pledged $850,000 to assist communities in recovering from the severe damage caused by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. This donation will be allocated among 13 nonprofit organizations throughout Florida, focusing on essential recovery efforts such as hunger relief, crisis management, and educational support for affected regions.
The funds will be distributed as follows:
American Red Cross – $250,000
Tri County Resource Center – $100,000
United Way Suncoast – $75,000
Feeding Tampa Bay – $75,000
Hillsborough Education Foundation – $70,000
Charlotte Local Education Foundation – $50,000
Education Foundation of Manatee County – $50,000
Education Foundation of Sarasota County – $50,000
Pasco Education Foundation – $50,000
Pinellas Education Foundation – $50,000
Dixie Board of Public Instruction – $10,000
Gilchrist Education Foundation – $10,000
Levy Education Foundation – $10,000
The substantial contribution by Suncoast aims to provide immediate disaster relief while also addressing long-term recovery needs, especially within the education sector. Funds designated to education foundations, including those in Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, and surrounding counties, will assist in rebuilding resources for teachers, students, and support staff impacted by the storms.
