Premier Sports Campus Expands with North and South Divisions
Premier Sports Campus, a cornerstone of Manatee County’s athletic community, is undergoing an exciting evolution. Two distinct divisions, Premier Sports Campus North and Premier Sports Campus South, have been created. This expansion marks the next chapter in the campus’s history of providing top-tier facilities and programs for residents and visitors alike.
A History of Premier Sports Campus
Located in Lakewood Ranch, Premier Sports Campus was established in 2011 as a state-of-the-art destination for youth sports, tournaments, and community events. With its meticulously maintained fields and facilities, the campus quickly gained recognition as a hub for regional and national competitions, including soccer, lacrosse, and rugby.
Over the years, Premier Sports Campus has hosted events ranging from professional soccer matches to grassroots tournaments, solidifying its reputation as a premier venue. Its versatile layout and high-quality infrastructure have drawn athletes, families, and fans, contributing to the growth of sports tourism in the region.
The Vision for the Future
The transformation into Premier Sports Campus North and South reflects a broader commitment to expanding recreational opportunities in Manatee County.
Premier Sports Campus South will continue the tradition of hosting large-scale events, with outdoor fields, concessions, and event space designed to serve the growing demand for sports and community gatherings.
Premier Sports Campus North, on the other hand, will feature the new Athletics & Aquatics Center. Approved by county commissioners earlier this week, the approximately 44,000-square-foot facility will include a competition-sized swimming pool, therapy pool, locker rooms, restrooms, 24 pickleball courts (14 of which will be covered), a geothermal yard, walking trails, and parking for approximately 166 vehicles.
This state-of-the-art facility will also provide group fitness classes to residents on the county's east side, mirroring the popular programs at GT Bray Park on the west side. The center aims to serve as a vibrant gathering place for residents of all ages and abilities.
Looking Ahead
With an anticipated completion date of Summer 2026, the expanded Premier Sports Campus will enhance the quality of life for Manatee County residents and reinforce its position as a regional leader in sports and recreation. This next phase builds on its storied history and sets the stage for a dynamic future, offering unparalleled opportunities for athletic and community engagement.
