Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Car in Manatee County

A Bradenton man was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing the street near U.S.-41 and 51st Avenue Drive West in Manatee County. The incident occurred around 10:37 p.m. on Saturday.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a 27-year-old man from Sarasota was driving south on U.S.-41 in the left lane when the crash happened. The 45-year-old pedestrian from Bradenton attempted to cross the southbound lanes and entered the vehicle's path.

The man was hit by the front of the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver sustained minor injuries. The crash is currently under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
