New College Marketing Director Faces Multiple Indecent Exposure Charges
Frederick Piccolo Jr., the marketing director at New College of Florida, has been arrested and charged in connection with multiple indecent exposure incidents at the University Town Center mall in Sarasota.
According to Sarasota and Manatee County court records, Piccolo, 47, faces four active cases involving the alleged exposure of his sexual organs to store employees inside fitting rooms at major retailers, including Banana Republic and Dillard’s. The incidents occurred between August and September of last year.
One arrest affidavit details an encounter on August 22 at Banana Republic, where a store manager alleged that Piccolo exposed himself and began masturbating while she assisted him in the fitting room area. In another incident on September 3 at Dillard’s, employees reported that Piccolo appeared nude and made no attempt to cover himself while seeking assistance.
Security footage from a third incident on September 4 at the same Dillard’s store reportedly captured similar behavior. In each instance, Piccolo allegedly left the store shortly after the incidents, sometimes without making any purchases.
Piccolo, who previously resigned from his role as DeSantis’s communications director in 2020 after public backlash over a controversial tweet about COVID-19 deaths, is no longer listed in New College’s online staff directory. His current employment status with the college has not been confirmed, and requests for comment from the school have gone unanswered.
He is currently facing a jury trial for the Sarasota charges, scheduled for May 27.
