New Access Guidelines Announced for Bradenton Beach Following Storm
Bradenton Beach Police Chief, John Cosby, has announced new access guidelines for residents and business owners beginning Monday, September 30, as the community begins its recovery efforts. These guidelines will govern who is permitted to cross the Cortez Bridge and access properties in the area.
Foot access across the Cortez Bridge will be restricted to specific individuals, including property owners who can present proof of ownership or a re-entry hangtag. Business owners and condominium or property managers will also be allowed entry if they have proper documentation showing their affiliation with the property. Additionally, insurance adjusters with the appropriate credentials will be permitted access to assess damage.
It is important to note that no pedestrian or vehicle traffic will be allowed on Gulf Drive during this time, and a strict curfew from 7:00 P.M. to 7:00 A.M. remains in place for all areas.
The primary purpose of the access at this stage is for documentation, initiating insurance claims, and assessing the extent of property damage. Chief Cosby emphasized that this phase is not intended for cleanup efforts, and cleanup personnel will not be allowed beyond the checkpoint until further notice.
Further updates are expected as the situation evolves, and the community is encouraged to stay informed for any additional instructions.
