Manatee County Sheriff’s Office Stops Over 100 Drivers in Recent DUI Saturation Patrol
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office conducted a large-scale DUI Saturation Patrol on Friday, with over 100 drivers stopped as deputies increased efforts to curb impaired driving on local roads. The traffic unit maintained heightened vigilance, targeting suspected drunk drivers to improve road safety across the county.
Throughout the operation, deputies made four DUI arrests and issued a variety of citations and warnings. The crackdown also included one misdemeanor arrest and two assessments for driver impairment. One of these cases involved a driver under 21, resulting in a .02 violation in alignment with Florida’s zero-tolerance policy for underage drinking and driving.
In total, the sheriff’s office recorded 79 citations, along with 27 warnings. Additionally, deputies issued five criminal traffic summons. These measures are part of the department’s ongoing effort to reduce impaired driving incidents and enhance traffic safety across Manatee County.
The next DUI Saturation Patrol in Manatee County is scheduled for mid-November, as the sheriff’s office continues its mission to deter driving under the influence and maintain safer roads for the community.
