Manatee County Residents Affected by Hurricanes Can Now Preregister for Disaster Food Assistance
Starting today, Manatee County residents who have been impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton can preregister for the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP). The Florida Department of Children and Families is offering this program to assist households that are not currently receiving regular SNAP benefits but are in need of food assistance due to the hurricanes.
Eligible residents are encouraged to complete the online registration at myflfamilies.com/DSNAP by November 8. Following preregistration, applicants will need to complete a phone interview to finalize their application. To conduct the interview, registrants should call the D-SNAP Call Center at 888-348-0408, available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The D-SNAP program provides temporary food assistance to help families meet their nutritional needs during times of recovery. This preregistration process allows Manatee County residents who have faced disruptions from Hurricanes Helene and Milton to access essential support as they work to rebuild.
