Manatee County Extends School Zone Speed Camera Warning Period Due to Hurricanes
In response to the impact of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, Manatee County Government has announced an extension of the warning period for school zone speed detection cameras. The warning period, originally set to end earlier, will now last until October 31, giving drivers additional time to adjust as the county recovers from the recent storms.

These locations are now under an extended warning period for speed detection, lasting until October 31. These cameras are active during flashing school zone times and throughout the school day.
During the extended warning period, any driver exceeding the speed limit by 10 miles per hour or more in these zones will receive a warning notice. However, starting November 1, violations will result in a $100 fine.
The county urges all travelers to be mindful of their speed in school zones as recovery efforts continue following the storms.
