Local hits the big leagues

Troy Guthrie, from Parrish Community High School, was chosen by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 11th round of the 2024 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft as the 337th pick, making him the first player ever from Parrish Community High School to achieve this honor! Guthrie began his baseball journey at Buffalo Creek Park in Palmetto, playing as a Buffalo Creek Little Leaguer from the age of 4. The community is incredibly proud of his monumental achievement and wish him the best of luck in his professional baseball career!
