IMG Academy Expands Volleyball Program with Introduction of Boys Volleyball

IMG Academy, the globally recognized leader in sports education, has announced the expansion of its volleyball program with the introduction of boys volleyball, following the rapid success of the girls program launched in 2023. The new program will provide elite-level training, competition, and holistic development opportunities for male student-athletes in one of the fastest-growing sports in the U.S.

Building upon IMG Academy’s world-class facilities and advanced Athletic and Personal Development (APD) programs, boys volleyball will incorporate comprehensive training that includes strength and conditioning, mental performance coaching, nutrition guidance, and character development. These resources will offer student-athletes an integrated experience designed to maximize their performance both on and off the court.

The boys volleyball program will launch with limited summer camps in 2025, focusing on developmental training and competitive team events. These camps will help prepare student-athletes for the inaugural boarding school season, set to begin in Fall 2026. The initiative aligns with IMG Academy’s mission to empower student-athletes with top-tier coaching and training methodologies.

Overseeing the new program’s development is Gilad Doron, the current Program Director for girls volleyball. Doron, a former player for the Israeli national team and a respected figure in the volleyball coaching community brings decades of experience in guiding top-tier athletes at the NCAA Division I and high school levels. His leadership has been instrumental in shaping the success of IMG Academy’s volleyball program.

Boys volleyball will join eight other boys’ sports offered at IMG Academy, including basketball, baseball, golf, football, lacrosse, soccer, tennis, and track and field. The sport has seen significant growth nationwide, with participation increasing by over 16% in the past year alone, marking it as one of the fastest-growing high school sports in the country.

With this expansion, IMG Academy is poised to become a year-round hub for volleyball, hosting national and international events, tournaments, and clinics. The new program reinforces IMG Academy’s commitment to providing unmatched athletic and academic development, ensuring student-athletes are equipped with the tools to succeed in competition and beyond.
