Hurricane Milton Forces Polling Place Relocations in Manatee County
Several polling places in Manatee County have been directly impacted by the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, prompting election officials to make urgent changes ahead of the upcoming election. On Friday, the Manatee County Supervisor of Elections Office announced that multiple precincts will be moved to ensure voters can still cast their ballots.
The precincts affected by storm damage and their new voting locations are as follows:
Voters from Precinct 301 and Precinct 305 will now cast their ballots at the Island Branch Library.
Precinct 307 voters are reassigned to the Longboat Island Chapel.
Those from Precinct 409 will vote at the State College of Florida.
Precinct 421 voters will head to the Trailer Estates Recreation Hall.
The Supervisor of Elections Office has assured the community that these adjustments will allow for uninterrupted participation in the election, despite the disruptions caused by the storm. Voters are also encouraged to take advantage of early voting, which will run from Monday, October 21, through Saturday, November 2. The general election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 5.
For those unable to attend their newly assigned polling locations, eight early voting sites are available countywide. Voters can find a complete list of these sites on the Manatee County Supervisor of Elections website.
