Holmes Beach to Lift Checkpoint and Curfew for Businesses and Property Owners
Holmes Beach Police have announced that Friday will mark the end of the checkpoint and curfew restrictions for business and property owners. These measures, set in place to ensure safety as residents returned to the island following storms Helene and Milton, will officially conclude at 6 a.m. on Friday.
The checkpoint, which required business owners and property residents to verify access, and the curfew, aimed at maintaining public safety and supporting orderly reentry, have been effective in monitoring the return process. With conditions stabilizing, police officials have decided to demobilize the checkpoint and remove the curfew restriction, allowing unrestricted access to the island.
As life in Holmes Beach returns to normal, local authorities continue to advise residents to remain cautious and stay updated on any further community alerts.
