Free Vaccination and Microchipping Event at Bishop Animal Shelter for Local Pet
Bradenton, FL – Manatee County Animal Welfare's Bishop Animal Shelter is hosting a free microchipping and vaccination event on Saturday, November 2, from 8 a.m. to Noon. The event, located at 5718 21st Avenue West, will offer free vaccines and microchips for the first 200 pets. Pet owners are encouraged to arrive early to ensure their cats and dogs receive these services, as supplies are limited.
To participate, cats must be brought in carriers and dogs must be on leashes. Additionally, a Pet Pantry Pickup will be available, providing pet food and supplies to families in need.
Pet vaccinations are vital for preventing the spread of diseases like rabies, parvovirus, and distemper, which can be life-threatening. Vaccinated pets are less likely to contract these illnesses, promoting a healthier pet community overall. Microchipping, on the other hand, offers a permanent way to identify pets, significantly increasing the chances of reuniting lost pets with their owners.
Manatee County Animal Welfare is committed to promoting responsible pet ownership and supporting local pet families. This event is an excellent opportunity for pet owners to protect their pets' health and improve their chances of finding their way home if ever lost.
