Coquina Beach Parking Expansion Reopens After Hurricanes Helene and Milton
Manatee County has reopened a significant portion of the parking lot at Coquina Beach, restoring access to the area following damage caused by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The newly available section, located north of the bus loop, includes all designated disabled parking spaces and approximately 120 additional spots for public use.
The reopening marks a significant step in the county’s recovery efforts after the storms, which left sections of the beach’s infrastructure needing extensive repairs and maintenance. Thanks to the diligent work of the county’s grounds teams, the lot has been restored to a safe and functional state, providing much-needed relief for beachgoers and the local community.
With expanded parking capacity, visitors can expect improved access to Coquina Beach, especially during peak seasons, when the area continues to welcome large crowds. County officials remain committed to enhancing public amenities and ensuring that facilities remain accessible and well-maintained.
