Cold Weather Shelter Opens in Bradenton for Those in Need
In response to the cold weather forecast, Manatee County's Emergency Management Division has collaborated with The Salvation Army to provide additional shelter space for individuals seeking refuge from the cold. The cold weather shelter will be located at The Salvation Army's facility at 1204 14th St. W., Bradenton.
Doors will open at 6 p.m. tonight, and up to 50 individuals will be offered shelter. This initiative supplements The Salvation Army's regular sheltering program, which accommodates 60 individuals overnight, regardless of temperature conditions.
The expansion aims to ensure vulnerable community members have a warm and safe place to stay during the cold snap. With temperatures expected to drop significantly, local officials are urging those needing these available resources.
This effort highlights the importance of community partnerships in addressing urgent needs and ensuring public safety during extreme weather events. Residents are encouraged to share this information to help those who may benefit from the shelter's services.
