City of Holmes Beach Battles Power Outages and Downed Trees, Plans Limited Re-Entry for Residents
The City of Holmes Beach continues its recovery efforts following the recent storm, with power, water, and sewer services still down. City officials report widespread damage across the area, including multiple downed trees and power lines, obstructing roadways and causing further delays in restoration efforts.
Crews are working around the clock to clear the roads and ensure public safety. The city plans to reopen to residents and business owners only for property assessments on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. This limited re-entry will not yet include workers, and residents must present a re-entry tag issued by the city to gain access. The re-entry is intended solely for damage assessment, with access for workers expected once utilities are restored and roads deemed safe.
Despite the challenges, city officials noted that storm surge damage was minimal, with no new issues from surging waters, offering a glimmer of hope amid the recovery. The city thanks residents for their patience and cooperation as they work toward a full restoration.
