Bradenton teen run over and killed after argument

A tragic incident unfolded on Saturday afternoon in Bradenton, resulting in the loss of a 17-year-old's life after being struck by a car, as reported by deputies. The driver, identified as 19-year-old Josh Oviedo, has been charged with murder in connection to the event.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, at approximately 5:07 p.m., law enforcement received a distressing call regarding the 17-year-old being run over by a vehicle in the 4600 block of 4th Avenue Drive East. Upon their arrival, deputies discovered the young victim deceased at the scene.

Authorities have disclosed that the fatal incident stemmed from a dispute between the two individuals, leading to the teen being struck by Oviedo's vehicle. Subsequently, Oviedo fled from the scene; however, he was apprehended shortly afterward behind a nearby shopping center.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding this tragic occurrence is ongoing, as stated by the sheriff's office.
