The Bradenton Police Department successfully collected 125 pounds of expired and unused prescription medications at the "Crush the Crisis" Prescription Drug Take Back Day event held Saturday morning at Blake Hospital. The initiative aimed to encourage community members to safely dispose of potentially dangerous medications, reducing the risk of misuse and environmental harm.
Held in partnership with Blake Hospital, the event saw residents of Bradenton and surrounding areas participate by bringing in unwanted medications for safe disposal. The Bradenton Police Department’s efforts to host the “Take Back Day” reflect its ongoing commitment to public safety and addressing the issues surrounding unused prescription drugs.
For those who missed the event, the Bradenton Police Department provides a secure, year-round drop-off option. Community members can safely dispose of medications during business hours by utilizing the Operation Medicine Cabinet disposal box located in the department’s lobby at 100 10th St. W. This ongoing initiative ensures that residents have a safe and convenient method to dispose of their unused medications, supporting both health and environmental well-being across the Manatee County community.
