Bradenton man surrenders after warrant issued in connection with deadly shooting at Oneco bar
A Bradenton man voluntarily surrendered to authorities on Friday following the issuance of a warrant for his arrest in connection with a deadly shooting at a bar in Oneco.
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of 27-year-old Jordan Glanz, who now faces a second-degree murder charge. According to an official statement, Glanz is accused of fatally shooting 49-year-old Deondrick Anderson in an incident that arose from a car accident in the parking lot of the Oneco Rose Bar in July.
Initially, Glanz was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, but after Anderson succumbed to his injuries, the charge was upgraded to second-degree murder.
Deputies responded to the scene at approximately 11:35 p.m. on July 10, where an argument over the car accident allegedly led Glanz to shoot Anderson in the torso.
After the shooting, Glanz fled the scene but later contacted authorities, claiming he acted in self-defense. However, after interviewing witnesses and examining evidence, detectives arrested Glanz on the aggravated battery charge.
Records from the sheriff’s office indicate that Glanz was released from custody on July 17, prior to the issuance of the new warrant for the second-degree murder charge, which led to his arrest on Friday. Additional details regarding his arrest were not immediately available.
