Bradenton Firefighters Respond to Two Major Fires on November 25
Bradenton, FL – On November 25, 2024, Bradenton Fire Department crews responded to two significant structure fires in the city, demonstrating a coordinated effort among multiple agencies to bring the incidents under control.
Evening Blaze on 18th Avenue West
At 8:09 PM, fire crews were dispatched to a structure fire on 18th Avenue West. Battalion 4 arrived on the scene alongside Engines 431, 412, and 482, as well as Squad 418. Additional support came from Cedar Hammock’s Ladder 219 and EMS unit Alpha 8, with Bradenton Police Department assisting. Firefighters quickly stretched a handline and began extinguishing the blaze, preventing further spread. The coordinated response ensured the fire was brought under control with no reported injuries.
Morning Fire on 28th Street Court Northwest
Earlier that morning, at 8:46 AM, another fire broke out in a single-story residential property with an accessory unit on 28th Street Court NW. Battalion 4, Engines 412 and 482, Squad 418, and Inspector 491 were joined by Chief 400. Mutual aid came from West Manatee Engine 111, Cedar Hammock Ladder 219, and EMS Alpha units 1 and 2, along with District 14. Cedar Hammock Engines 221 and 241, Southern Manatee Engine 312, and West Manatee Engine 121 provided standby support.
Multiple handlines were deployed from the A and C sides of the structure, with Ladder 219 used to combat the fire from above. The coordinated effort from multiple agencies ensured that the flames were extinguished efficiently, though the property sustained significant damage.
Both incidents highlight the professionalism and quick action of Bradenton Fire Rescue and neighboring agencies. Investigations are underway to determine the causes of both fires.
